“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend”
Like everything else, the end goal of our friendships should be God and His glory. Since our hearts are prone to wander away and worship other things, we need these constant reminders of His glory and His worth in our friendships.
You won’t find perfect people in the 24-7 community, you will find likeminded Christians facing the same challenges, having the same daily struggles, and making the same mistakes. But as Ecclesiastes tells us: “two people are better than one, for they can help each other succeed. If either of them falls, one can help the other up”.
24-7 gives us an opportunity to share our experiences and insights with fellow students and graduates. It provides a place for us to lift others up, and when we need it, to be lifted ourselves.
“Christian friendship is a treasure because it helps us cling to our greatest Treasure”
Over the past ten years, hundreds of graduates have served in a multitude of ways at dozens of Christian Education events, the two main events of the year being the European Student Convention and TEACH Camp.
European Student Convention
ESC challenges 24-7 members in a multitude of different ways. Amongst their many tasks, 24-7 team helps with the day-to-day running of the event, assists with the judging and adjudicating, and lead the students in worship during the evening rallies. It provides opportunities for graduates to give something back to ESC, to grow their leadership abilities, and to experience working as part of a team at a busy event.
If you like working with children then TEACH Camp is the place for you! Each year dozens of TEACH families descend on beautiful Cefn Lea Park in Mid Wales for a week of fun and fellowship. 24-7 are involved in running the children’s sessions during the morning, organising family activities in the afternoon, and leading the evening rallies. It may sound busy, but TEACH Camp is a holiday camp, so there’s plenty of time for getting to know each other in the spectacular surroundings of the rolling Welsh hills. Note that if working with children isn’t your cup of tea, but you’d still like to attend, there’s plenty of other work to do!
As graduates of Christian Education, we have an opportunity to fly its flag to those around us. One of the tasks that the 24-7 team fulfil best is sharing how their Christ-centred, Bible-based education has shaped and moulded them into the people we are today. On this website you will find just some of our life stories. We hope that they challenge and encourage you.
“You have to be heavenly minded to be of any earthly good”
24-7 members are today serving their Creator in colleges, universities, workplaces, and on the mission field. Why not join us? Together we can work to further not only Christian education, but the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour.
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
